What We Do
Straight Ahead Films makes and distributes short, authentic, and powerful fiction films about the struggle for recovery from Alcohol Use Disorder.

We also provide discussion materials designed to help counselors get their patients to identify and open up about their problems with alcohol.
​
These films have won multiple awards at the New Jersey Recovery Film Festival, and have played numerous times in the long-standing Reel Recovery Film Festival in both Los Angeles and New York City as well as many other film festivals across the U.S.

Neal Hemphill
Who We Are
Neal Hemphill is a filmmaker and actor. He is also a person in long-term recovery, and is the Founder of Straight Ahead Films.
The Straight Ahead Films team includes many who are in recovery. For example, “Reservations” brought 137 years of collective sobriety to the filmmaking process.
“If I can give back even a tiny part of what’s been given to me, I’ll be passing it on to the next person who needs to hear the message of recovery.”
We believe in the power of storytelling
to effect CHANGE in people's lives.
